HDCP 2.2 on Both Ends?

I've just hooked up an Onkyo TX-RZ810 to my Sony XOBR-Z900A. I'm trying to patch my Amazon Fire throught the "StreamBox" input of the Onkyo, which supports HDCP2.2. However, the signal won't be decoded. There is only one HDMI HDCP input on the Sony. The Onkyo feeds its signal through the ARC connection on the Sony. Is this the reason is won't decode? Does there have to be HDCP support on both ends--in this case the Onkyo and the Sony TV?

Re: HDCP 2.2 on Both Ends?

I'm not clear on your setup.

The firestick is generating the original content that requires HDCP, but is plugged into the Sony TV, which sends audio over ARC/HDMI to the Onyko AV receiver.

or the firestick is connected to the Onyko directly and sends stuff over HDMI to the TV, which you are trying to do over the ARC HDMI port?
