Horizontal Line on screen XBR70X850B

Hello,

I recently noticed a single pixel line that crosses about 3/4 of the way across the screen. It seems to fade from white to black and also seems to change color when the picture changes on the screen.

I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or possibly an LVDS cable issue, or TCON?

Any direction is appreciated.

Thank you,

Jason

Hi Mr2canbear,

Welcome to the SONY Community!

Our apologies for the inconvenience that this may have caused. In this case, you need to try if the lines are visible on the home screen. To isolate the issue, you can check the guidelines from this link: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42981.

Regards,
-Jay

Re: Horizontal Line on screen XBR70X850B

This exact thing has happened to me. Identical location Did you manage to resolve it? I have an XBR-65X850D Bravia 4K 2015. Did you find any resolve? It's been just over a year of ownership from brand new. Can't believe it.

Re: Horizontal Line on screen XBR70X850B

Hi Ballykhehra,

Welcome to the Sony Community!

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Sony TV. Doing a power reset could possibly eliminate the lines on the screen. You may follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the TV.
  2. Unplug the AC power cord.
  3. Leave the TV unplugged for 2 minutes.
  4. Reconnect the AC power cord.
  5. Power on the TV.

After performing the power reset procedure, press the HOME button on the supplied remote control to show the menu screen. If the lines are still visible on the menu screen, the TV may require service. For reference and additional information, please click on this link.

To send your TV to a Sony facility to be repaired, please visit our eService website.

Thank you,

Jerome
