(MAJOR ISSUE) Purple Tint on objects in motion (all x930Ds after latest patch!!!)

[ Edited ]

On x930D,  MANY users (myself included) are reporting  that there is now a purpleish tint following objects in fast scenes with dark environments. This is apparant in video games like Battlefiedl 1, and completely ruins the immersion. VERY DISTRACTING.  Also apparent in films (see attached image someone from avs uploaded from jungle book).

Please comment if you are also seeing this issue---we need to have Sony resolve this ASAP

Issue seems to get at its peak when the Black Level is below 55. At 45-50, it's horrid. Before the patch, Black Level 45 was perfect and provided the best contrast, now it is not usuable.

(1/15/2017 Edit): Marshmallow (PKG3.531.0108NAB) didn't resolve issue on my x930D. Still have to increase black level to 55 to work around it for most content.

Sets confirmed to have this issue:

65x930D

65x900C

I can confirm this issue. The Jungle Book picture is mine, and I have seen it on other discs and inputs too.

Is this issue only for the X930D or do you guys know if other models are experiencing this as well?

Seems to plague every x930D, not sure about other models. If others can check on different models, that will be helpful.

Well guys,

You did not expect Sony to cut almost 70ms of input lag without sacrifying some quality.

Just joking.

Anyway, On Sony X850D, everything look perfect.

Try playing some battlefield 1, very noticeable indoors, especially on maps with strong contrast like Fao Fortress.

The image seems to distort when there is a swift change from dark background to a bright one---this is even apparent on the settings menu
