Re: Sony XBR55X850C hdr washed out colors

Mine is the 55" - KD55X8508C/XBR55X850C

I downloaded the Sony Camp HDR from this link, it's really fast as well.

AFAIU, this is currently a compatiblity issue with the Xbox One S not supporting the wider color gamut in games. True HDR will reveal itself with the PS4 Pro I believe. However, I can't speak for the issues with Netflix or Amazon Prime as I don't have a subscription for these services. From my experience it worked great so far.

Re: Sony XBR55X850C hdr washed out colors

so..after more testing and getting used to my tv 43xd8305...i decided to return it to the store , being a ips panel , i am sick of this thing called IPS GLOW , google it , it's frustrating. the idiot guy at the store told me the panel is s-pva or something...but it's not. the tv's black is more like grey , and being an ips panel it has very low contrast. also if you even gently press the upper corners of the display , they move inside , this looks like a ****** job sony , never gonna buy a sony tv again, i will remain true to samsung.  i will change it with a samsung 43ks7502. i tested it , it has a pva panel , 10 bit ,

Don't blame Sony because the guy at the store mislead you about the specs. Everything you need to know is on Sony's website in terms of specs, nothing is hidden.

Re: Sony XBR55X850C hdr washed out colors

Some people say hdr is supposed to look washed out and dimmer to be able to show true shadows
But personally I hate a darker washed out look sigh. HDR to me feels like a gimmick

OK maybe not everything is on the Sony website, but you need to know this site: http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/813d634

Search for your model and it will tell everything, Panel, Color output etc. It will not detail input latency though.

Re: Sony XBR55X850C hdr washed out colors

yeah i know the site, i found out about it after hours of googleing on forums . i dont know how legit the info is though. also it says there that 43ks7500 is 8bit + frc , but that tv is UDH premium certified , which in fact means the panel should be 10 bit...
