TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I bought an XBR-65X850B and it keeps dropping the wifi connection.  I have good signal strength, router is working perfectly with all other devices, but I'll be watching netflix and the connection will just fail.  I have to unplug the tv and plug it back in to re-establish the connection.  Why??????

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Thanks Joffrey, I saw that and already tried all those steps, but it doesn't solve the problem.  The wifi in my tv just randomly drops.  I've got a good, strong signal, but it just disconnects.  Then I have to either unplug the tv or manually go through the wifi setup and re-establish the connection.

The issue manifests when watching netflix and it stops, then starts buffering agin, only to stop at 25% every time.  I can watch netflix through my Xbox, but I just paid a few thousand dollars for this tv, it's not even a month old, and I'd like it to work properly.  I'm not sure how to get it solved.  I'd hate to have to take this thing down and take it for service.  It's brand new.

Hi Attono,

You may try resetting the TV to the factory default settings.

Just follow the steps here.

By the way what is the speed of your internet?

Thanks.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Hi Attono,

Thank you for these information's. Now, do you have other devices connected to your internet like phones or tablets?

Have you tried connecting the TV alone in your internet?

Thanks.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

No, I haven't.  Interesting suggestion.  How do you think that would help to identify the problem with the tv dropping the connection.  Seems pretty clear that the issue is the tv.  All the other devices remain connected reliably.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

That's good information.  The primary symptom is that it drops the connection with my router, though.  It's between the tv and the router.  The other issue is that it's completely random.

I appreciate your patience and the fact that you're continuing to try to help.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

You're very much welcome. So in this cases we recommend to connect TV's to the router wired. There will be no hassle in remembering passwords, no connection issues, and of course constant speed however, if your getting the same result during the wired setup, might as well contact your ISP for further assistance. Thanks. -Joffrey
