Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I am having the same issue with my xbr65x850b. TV randomly drops internet connection and won't reconnect at all while all other devices connected to my netgear router works just fine. I have tried many settings on my router and changed the router as well, but no luck. I have to either power off/on my TV or reset my TV wifi connection. I tried It's frustrating. Hope Sony can fix this issue ASAP.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I still have to manually go in to settings and re-establish the wifi connection each time.  Just happened again last night.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

From what i read so far, it looks like there was a software update on 12/03/14 and this could be causing the wifi drop issue. Just got a new xbr65850b and running the old version. Didn't allow it to update to latest software. Will check and post an update.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Still waiting on a reply from somebody at Sony?  Is this something that I just have to live with?  Seems pretty clear that it's an issue with the wifi hardware/software inside the TV.  Is there no interest in fixing this?

Yeah, definitely an issue with sony wifi hardware/software. My new tv also experienced the same issue. So just hooked up the wired lan connection and atleast this is working fine so far. And waiting for an update from sony...

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Well as expected it is getting worse, have to reconnect every day and every couple of days it wont even see the network so I have to reboot the router and reset TV.... Sony you might have the best 4K TV right now but I would rather sacrfice a little image quality for a Samsung as none of my 5 Samsungs have ever lost wifi after inital setup.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

OK, so now it's getting really annoying.  I get a good network connection, but cannot get any wifi content, it won't refresh internet content, and it just sits and says searching when I try to check for a software update.  I paid WAY too much for this tv to be acting like this.

Come ON Sony, help me!!!

My Sony does the same thing.  I have been on 5 calls with Sony support.  They are giving me the BS that I am well within range of the router (30ft or less) but because it is on a different floor THATS MY ISSUE!  The tech said over and over the wireless adapter in the TV is VERY BASIC (code for piece of JUNK) compared to computers and phones and it will not perform like all the other devices that don't disconnect!  I mean a phone has it's wireless adapter on a chip for gosh sakes, how much more basic does that get.  I think these guys are programmed to give the customer who pays way TOO much for the Sony name a hard time to keep their repair costs down.  Should have went with the SAMSUNG!  I am sure their wireless adapter is far superior!!!

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I purchased my Sony BDP-S390 in December 2012 and have, in the last 2 weeks, experienced this same problem. All other devices connect to WIFI except for the blu ray player. I have restarted, unplugged, changed HDMI cords, and followed all of the trouble shooting as instructed by the support site. I even spent another hour chatting with a technician, who was unable to assist me after taking me through the same steps I had already used. Have tried calling the Support number to find out about servicing my player, only sit on hold for 28 minutes before being disconnected. I did reach one agent after hours who interrupted me more than once before stating they could not help, and referred me back to the support site I had already used.

At this point, dealing with the support service is more trouble than it is worth. The repair service, judging from other comments, seems to be about as helpful. This is the only Sony product I have bought recently and am less than pleased since I have not even owned this player for 3 years.

Because I've spent the entirety of my career in customer service, I am extremely patient with companies and individuals in the service industry, as it is a demanding career. However, my experience with Sony has deterred me from buying any of their products in the future.
