Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Not yet, seems EVERYTHING about Sony's repair process is screwed up! It took me 3 solid weeks and countless hours on the phone to get a repair order in for my TV. The day the authorized repair dealer was suppose to fix my TV they were a NO SHOW. Now they say they are waiting on parts. 11 days later I called and they are STILL WAITING ON PARTS. So I called Sony and they have no records of parts needing ordering. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing and I am once again am in limbo due to Sony's incompetence.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I'm still having the same issue, but it doesn't seem to happen do often. I think we're just watching the tv less though. I think I've gone through one software upgrade and it didn't seem to help much. I don't get the sense that Sony read anything in here it is interested in resolving the issue. They have our money. It'll certainly weigh heavily in my future purchasing of electronics.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

Well funny enough Sony called me today. They said this time that parts were sent out and received by the authorized repair shop. The authorized repair shop still says there are no parts. So at this point Sony will be sending me a replacement TV.

Re: TV WIFI CONNECTION KEEPS DROPPING

I have a KDL47W802A and it has the exact same issue.  You know it fails when Netflix buffers, hits 25% and then all wifi is broken. After trying to reistablish connection, turning off the tv multiple times, eventually something allows it to work again, utill the next time it happens. It might take two nights of viewing, but eventually it happens.

I'm a very technical person and it's 100% related to the TV and nothing else.

[ Edited ]

I've had the exact same issue over the last month or so with my KDL50W800B - infrequently at first but now it can be 4 or 5 times over the space of a single movie. Basically makes the TV useless since I bought it for streaming media only.

Posted it on the forum a few weeks ago and just got some copy-pasted troubleshooting from a moderator, which was no help. Here's the original post with reply.

I'm pretty disappointed about this - especially since I had no issues for the first few months of owning the TV until this started happening out of nowhere.

The fact that Sony refuse to give any response only adds insult to injury.
I doubt I'd be able to get my money back for it, either.

No, it still drops off.  Doesn't seem like Sony is that interested in fixing it.
