Chat online with a Sony Tech Rep

Where, specifically, is there a link to chat with Sony Tech Staff about how to unlock my frozen RM-LVR2V after a failed firmware update to 2.0?

You can also open up the back and take the battery out if you prefer that.

You may need small screwdrivers for that though.

Re: Chat online with a Sony Tech Rep

IamNic,

Preference implies there are options to choose from or a choice between two actions. There really wasn't any choice in this case since the power button had no effect and there were no other options than to remove the battery--if I wanted to try to reset the device.

As it turns out, it made no difference. Removed the battery, waited a few minutes and then replaced it and the rear case cover.

Small red light still on, power button has no effect, nor does pressing various combinations of the other buttons (power/menu/display/Record)

Do you know how to initiate an online dialog with a Sony Tech Rep?

Sadly not, I tried to talk to exisiting moderators here to make me a moderator so I am able to escalate issues to the Sony support, yet without any success.

On the EU forums I am a moderator though (I live in Germany), so even though you are probably not located in the UK, I can highly recommend to re-post your original thread about the frozen remote on the UK forums, where I can escalate your issue to the support.

You may have to sign up with a new account there, since Sony US and Sony EU are seperate companies and use a different account system.

Hi Tom,

I couldn't see any post of yours on the UK forums.

Re: Chat online with a Sony Tech Rep

Nic,

I went to the site and tried to register, but ran into problems. It's in German so I had a little difficulty figuring out what was said.

However, it looked like the Registration process wasn't working for me,  or that I was already registered because of my US registration.

I will try again in 2 days.  Right now I am busy with work and travel.

Thank you.

Oh sorry, I linked you the UK forums via the link I use to access them.

Simply exchange the .de with .co.uk
