FDR-X3000 Color Grading LUT (color lookup table) S-Log Compatability

Hello

I was looking for a a LUT for the fdr-x3000 - a basic one for digital viewing like REC709. I am gathering that this camera cant make an s-log file, so is xvac s ok for using with a LUT?

Failing all this how does everyone else do their color grading?

Thanks

I film in "natural mode" and then use either VitaScene2 from proDAD or something else.

Others reported to use DaVinci Resolve, which is free.

Re: FDR-X3000 Color Grading LUT (color lookup table) S-Log Compatability

Thanks again i am going t download that one as soon as i have some bandwidth to spare, only just realiesed it was free. Ive got Powerdirector with Colordirector. I read DaVinci does a great job with color.

It and Powerdirector can both use a LUT. If we can find one specific to our camera it will correct the color to a standard. The REC709 LUT is typically used it will come in different flavors for different cameras but the result will be the same for each camera. Im gathering now a LUT doesnt have to have an s-log file - there are LUTS for other Sony Cameras with XVAC.
