FDR-X3000 created two files

Using the live view remote, I hit play and made a recording for about 1 minute. I then went on to make other, similar short recordings. When I looked at the files, the one-minute recording was split into two files. I didn't do anything during the recording, except to push the record button once to start and once to end. I was recording in 1080, 60, medium, with a SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB microSDXC UHS-I Card. None of the other files were split. Any thoughts why this occurred?

Sounds to me like you are recording in loop mode with a short loop length.

The 5 minute setting will create 5 one minute clips and delete the first one after the 6th is finished and closed.

So for your example that means the following: The camera just finished off the first one minute segment and you stopped the recording when the second one was still active.

Switch into normal video mode to get rid of this behavior.

Yes, that was it! Guess I'm living up to the Rookie title. Thanks for the quick reply.
