Yes, I know what you mean. That's why I'm not very convinced at the moment, but it's tempting because it's much cheaper than the alternatives (e.g. on aliexpress)

You buy a 400$ camera but want to go cheap on the memory card? Smiley Very Happy Lol.

It's like buying a Porsche and then having to go with the cheapest tires Smiley Wink

I bought 2 of the 128GB that Nic suggested. I'm still waiting on my camera to arrive though, should get it early next week. Smiley Very Happy I'm excited!

No problems here in 4k/100mb with the 256GB $150 Samsung U3 EVO+ I picked up at B&H.

Hi Sludge2017,

Welcome to Sony Community!

We recommend using the Sony SD Card XC (128GB) model number SR-G1UZA or SR-G1UX2.  This is the maximum capacity tested to work with FDR-X3000.

Regards,
Jen

A 200$ card which can write with 720Mbit/s for a camera, which can only write with 100Mbit/s?

That isn't a good recommendation in my opinion.

Also the FDR X1000 and X3000 can take at least 256GB cards (confirmed), maybe even 512GB cards(yet to be confirmed).

Re: Need SD card recommendation for Sony FDR x3000

100mbits/sec is only about 12mbyte/sec and loads of SD cards can do that.

The problem with these action cams is that they don't buffer the writes properly so they need ultra fast cards.

I suspect all the brands use the same basic software (probably comes with the Sony sensor evaluation kit) and the vendor just changes the user interface Smiley Happy
