X3000: Flip image should also flip the screen display

A firmware update should include that when the flip option is enabled, the screen display also flips.

I'm not sure if there is some sort of physical limitation with the display preventing this from happening, but it would be very beneficial when the camera is mounted upside down.

When I flip the image on the camera and mount the camera upside down - then the display shows the image the correct way round (ground is at the lower part of the screen, the sky is on the upper part of the screen).

Flipping the remotes image too would be nonsense (image would be upside down) - unless I understand your problem wrong.

If you want to achieve that the image is upside down on the remote, just don't flip the image in the camera and just mount it upside down.

Maybe he means that camcorder flip out screen accessory... But that doest fit on the x3000?!

The whole reason flip mode is available is to not flip your remote

He can't mean that, the flip out screen was only compatible with the AS15/20/30/100/200.

OH! ITS SO OBVIOUS!

he means the monochrome settings LCD on the camera itself! His concern is actually valid!

Re: X3000: Flip image should also flip the screen display

I mean the LCD that is built into the side of the camera, not the remote. When the camera is mounted upside down, the display on the LCD on the side of the camera is also upside down.

I am unfamiliar with the construction of the LCD but I wonder if there are physical limitations to what can be displayed on the screen and the location of those.

As it is a dot matrix style display and not a  fixed LCD, it can be done in software!

Re: X3000: Flip image should also flip the screen display

I use Sony Action Cams since 2012 and never even once had an issue with the LC-Display on the camera not gettings flipped - so it was in no way obvious (at least to me).

Maybe I use the camera differently than dougiefresh131 - may I ask in what situation exactly the screen not flipping is an issue?

Re: X3000: Flip image should also flip the screen display

I have it mounted upside down on a helmet so I can access the sd card without dismounting (I need to be able to hot swap the card. using the cable takes too long). Having it flipped also allows me to access the battery (mounted upright, i cannot swing the battery door open due to something else on the helmet). So when the camera is flipped, my battery indicator is now on the bottom left of the LCD. I cannot see this indicator because it is blocked by something else on the helmet. If the LCD was flipped, returning the battery indicator to the top right, it would be visible.

That sounds like an interesting helmet-setup. Would you mind sharing an image of it?
