The a7r2 is a very good camera that I would love to use more often with all my lenses, native and vintage. There are three issues which I understand have been addressed with the a7r3 that would make me keep my a7r2:
1. EVF shimmering(unsharp image @ 5x magnification in MF mode. Not sure that this can be fixed in firmware, though. But may be a factor other than 5x would help? Or an option to go straight to 10x?
2. APS-C mdoe selection assignable to a custom button.
3. Review magnification assignable to a custom button. The C3 button for me is not comfortable within reach of my right hand thumb. An implementation similar to the a6500 would be great.
I know it is Sony policy not to make exisiting customers happy by fixing things in firmware. But would it really be so hard to make a very small change to the menue of the a7r2 to allow assignment of Review Magnification to the AE/AF Button? It would make using the camera so much more convenient. And if the EVF "shimmering" cannot be fixed with a firmware update, can't Sony at least provide an otpion in the menue to go right away to the second magnification step? Existing customers are future customers. Canon and Nikon are around the corner with their mirrorless offers.
