HVL-F20M flash

Hi
I bought the HVL-F20M flash for my Sony NEX 7 but it seems the flash dose not fit in the camera flash shoe
Could you please advice with the proper adapter that make the flash fully working

There is 6 and 7 on compatibility list.

 

NEX 6 have normal ISO hot shoe

NEX 7 have iISO hot shoe with autolock

 

Is there no removable adapter iISO to ISO in your flash unit?

It looks you should to buy HVL-F20AM instead HVL-F20M, now You need to buy ISO to iISO adapter Sony did not wrote at compability list of HVL-F20M that unit with NEX 7 need to use adapter. Ask your seller.

If your flash unit is new, and not used maybe your seller will replace HVL-F20M for right one HVL-F20AM. Did you asked your seller?

You need the ADP-AMA adapter to convert the NEX-7's Auto-Lock Accessory shoe into a Multi-Interface shoe. There are also third-party adapters that you can use, but note that these have not been tested and full compatibility is not guaranteed.

 

ZabaStoDwa is correct in saying that the HVL-F20AM does not require any adapter and you can mount it directly unto the camera.
