NEX-5 Manual Shutter/Aperture in Movie Mode

How can I set the shutter speed and aperture (separately) in Movie mode? I successfully did this last week (I swear!) and even made test videos, but now… something seems to have gone wrong and I can’t seem to set these features manually in movie mode anymore other than using the Exposure Comp dial while recording.

I am using an NEX-5 with 18-55mm lens with v.4 firmware. Thanks!

Re: NEX-5 Manual Shutter/Aperture in Movie Mode

Hello,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums.
When shooting video the shutter is open when you press record and is in an Auto Mode only. You can only adjust these settings manually when taking a still photograph.

Manual Shutter settings can be reviewed on page 48
Manual Aperture settings can be reviewed on page 51

Re: NEX-5 Manual Shutter/Aperture in Movie Mode

Is this an NEX 5 thing?  Because I can adjust both the shutter and the aperture by pressing the video button when I'm in Manual mode on my NEX 6.  And I upgraded from a 5N, which also allowed manual control over video parameters.  Unless I'm not understanding the question.
