Two Shutter actuations per image on NEX 5

When I pressed on the shutter button, the camera seems to make a sound of two consecutive shutter actuations.

The camera was set to Aperture priority, single shot adv (btw what is adv ?) without HDR or creative mode,DR off, creative style standard.

I have checked the exif info to confirm the two actuations per shot. Unfortunately I cannot attach the image here.

Can anybody enlighten me in this regards please.

Re: Two Shutter actuations per image on NEX 5

On the original Nex 5 this is totally normal as it does not have an electronic first curtain shutter so it has 2 mechanical actuations per shot. because it is basically in permanent lifeview, it has to open the shutter again after taking the picture.. later iterations of cameras added electronic first curtain shutters, so the shutter noise was dramatically reduced, as well as shutter wear
