SLT-A58 remote control

I am unable to get camera remote control software to work with my new SLT-A58k camera.  Any suggestions?

Re: SLT-A58 remote control

Have you set the camera to Remote Control mode (Setup menu, USB mode)?

Re: SLT-A58 remote control

Thanks a million.  This worked perfectly.  It's a new camera and I must have skipped over this in the manual.  Thanks again.

Re: SLT-A58 remote control

Hi Sammy_Sony! Unfortunately, the a58 does not support a hand-held remote control. However, the camera can be connected to the computer via USB and controlled through the use of the Remote Camera Control software.

Re: SLT-A58 remote control

the SLT-A58 features the Multi-USB terminal and therefore supports the Sony remote control devices like RM-VPR1 and others.

Re: SLT-A58 remote control

I have the RM-VPR1 and it works perfectly with the Sony SLT-A58

If you can't afford that remote then if you have an android phone that support OTG you can get an OTG adaptor and an app for the phone which will let you use it as a remote and save the pictures directly to your phone
