Hello,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums.
By setting up your computer as a DLNA server, you can stream media, such as music, photos or video, over your network to your Blu-ray player.
Here are the steps on how to set up a DLNA server.

Here are the file types that are supported when using DLNA.

your Ipod files are mp4 and not supported by DLNA however you can play your itune files via USB.

For more information, about DLNA standards directly from the alliance visit here:

I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. But it's awfully hard to not notice the absolute lack of presence from anyone SONY RELATED on the actual firmware problems threads.

Most i'm sure have a ZERO problem firmware upgrade experience. But there are more posts than I can keep track of on this forum, and many others like forum.blu-ray, AVSforums etc. talking about units that either have an outright firmware failure; or a Sony BDP that fails to play certain Blu-rays (that it played right before the supposed "successful" firmware "upgrade"), or one that plays some but not others some luckier than others having trouble with just a few to those with trouble on most Blu-rays ---> to those un-lucky enough to get the UNKNOWN - Cannot operate this disc - INVALID message on ALL the Blu-Rays they try.

Were are the answers?

Thank you for your feedback,
however the original question did not address a specific Blu-ray title not working. If you have a title that worked prior to a Firmware update, and fails to work after a firmware update please post a new Topic stating XYZ movie does not work when Version XX.X is applied to Blue ray player BDP-123 and we will address it directly, or check to see if its the disc itself by testing with another of the same title.

all motion picture industry companies release titles with new features, and in some cases new audio codecs that previously did not exist. when this is discovered we do our best to bring this to the attention of our software engineers.

If you are experiencing an issue with a specific title please review this article if you require assistance updating your Blu-ray player.
