Hi bond_007,

Unfortunately, wireless keyboards cannot be used with the Blu-ray Player. However, you can connect 101 keys USB keyboard to the jack on the Player and can use for for manual text input while browsing.

If you are not interested in using wired keyboard, there is an application called "Media Remote" which you can use from your Android Smart phone or iPhone, iPad etc. It has the keyboard feature to enter letters, number or other characters on the TV screen.

Detailed information about Media Remote application is mentioned on the below pages:

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/33257

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36753

If you wish to use the Keyboard feature of Media Remote app, perform the steps below prior using:

  1. Using you phone or wireless device, access the Media Remote program.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Keyboard Sync.
  4. Change it to ON.

Media remote is a partial solution.

It's far from perfect. Sony really do need to make all wireless remote keyboards compatible with their products.

Most other manufacturers are on board with this, why not Sony?

A real keyboard, not a mobile phone, is preferable, there's no reason not to allow this.

Digital incompatibility is the blight of modern life, come on Sony, sort it out.

Hi daresaurYou can use a 101 keyboard for the BDP-BX59 Blu-ray player via USB connection.
