UBP-X800 - DNLA file play back issues 1080p

[ Edited ]

The Sony UDP-X800:

I have movies stored on a harddrive on my network. The player finds the DLNA server(computer), it recognizes the mp4 file types. The 1080p content freezes every 5 or 6 seconds. I have 2 other Sony bluray players that play the same content without any issues(the same movies). I have returned this player and the new one does the exact same thing. If you have this player, try to play your 1080p files( movies) over your network before your return period ends on this purchase.

For their top of the line player to have this many issues is very poor quality control.

Hello Pdstring,

I have been attempting to replicate your condition without success.  I have also escalated this back to our design team where they have been attempting to replicate.

Could you help support with additional information for our investigation?

  1. Customer used wired or wireless LAN for DLNA (server to router, router to player)
  2. DLNA Software utilized
  3. More details on video information
  • 1080/24p, 1080/30p or 1080/60p
  • HDR or non-HDR
  • If possible, can we get a copy of your actual video source

Thank you,

Chris
