Amazon Instant Video App missing from BDP-S5100 and BDP-BX510

[ Edited ]
I'm in Canada and own a BDP-S5100 and a BDP-BX510 smart blu-ray player.

Amazon Prime videos was just released here but I don't appear to have the Amazon video app on the S5100 at all. I just turned on the BX510 and saw the app, but when I selected it, it somehow removed itself from my video app list and despite resetting and refreshing the internet content, it's just gone.

Is this intentional since I'm in Canada? How can I get this app on both of my blu-ray players? Incidentally I also have a KDL-48R550C smart TV and the Amazon app is missing from there too...

Thanks in advance.

Re: Amazon Instant Video App missing from BDP-S5100 and BDP-BX510

Just bought a BDP S6500 today. Very upset to find out no Amazon Instant Video.

Hope this issue can be solved soon. Amazon video is the main reason I bought this.

Re: Amazon Instant Video App missing from BDP-S5100 and BDP-BX510

I've been casting my phone/tablet screen to the player via Chromecast, but it really eats up the device battery if it's not near a plug Smiley Sad

Re: Amazon Instant Video App missing from BDP-S5100 and BDP-BX510

Hello SONY Community!

Welcome and thank you for considering the SONY Community!

Below are the steps to isolate the missing app concern.

  1. Perform a software update to obtain the latest firmware (software) version.

NOTE: If the latest software is already installed, No updates available or The Most current update is being used will appear.

  2. From the menu of the Internet video device, select Refresh Internet Content.

    NOTES:

    • Doing a refresh Internet content does not apply to an Android™ TV.
    • For a Blu-ray Disc® player, do an update list or follow these additional steps to refresh the Internet content of the player:
    1. Select Setup.
    2. Select Resetting.
    3. Select Initialize Personal Information.
    4. Select OK.
  3. Reset the modem and router.
  4. Do the Refresh Internet Content procedure again.
  5. Reset the Internet video device to the original factory settings.

Additional troubleshootng can be access in this link.

Best regards,

~Erin
