BDP-S1100 wifi connection

My blu-ray player is not detecting my home WIFI. Does this model is BDP-S1100 require wired internet connection only?

Re: BDP-S1100 wifi connection

kpeck21085,

This model (BDPS-1100) does not have wireless connection capability. Please see below link for market specification.

Thanks,

Hi Jwily!

I do not have access to the other store's website, but our Sony Store website does not say anything about it being WiFi ready with compatible adapter. You may visit the Marketing Specifications and Operating Instructions of the BDPS1100 for information.

Re: BDP-S1100 wifi connection

It's a simple fix, no need to hook up to a router. Just connect an Ethernet cable from the player to your cable or satellite box. I have DirectTV and hooked up a short cable and wham I'm connected to the internet.

Re: BDP-S1100 wifi connection

What do you mean run it to your cable or satellite isn't that just harder than running it to your router. Is there a way to wirelessly hook it up. Maybe like a wireless USB plug

Re: BDP-S1100 wifi connection

Hi GeorgieM!

Wireless USB plug is not possible with the Blu-ray player. You may connect the Blu-ray Disc (BD) player to a wireless bridge.

Hi bud1236!

You mentioned dtv receiver. What do you exactly mean by that? Also, may i know the model number of your Sony unit? Click this link to get additional information on how to find your model.

Re: BDP-S1100 wifi connection

This makes no sense and doesn't work.  At some point in the connection process you would have to pass through your internet service provider, wired or wi fi and unless your satellite receiver is how you get to the internet, this is impossible.
