BDP-S590 flashing OFF since power outage last night

I was watching a show on Netflix last night when we lost our Comcast internet connection.  The box started flashing OFF.

This morning checked on Comcast everything up and running.  TV worked fine.  I went to turn on Blu-Ray box nothing.  Thought it might be dead battery, changed 3 times.  Nothing.  I unplugged and replugged.  Nothing.  Still flashing OFF

Re: BDP-S590 flashing OFF since power outage last night

Hello moreta6, thank you for your message. Welcome to SONY Community!

Follow the steps below to perform a power reset:

1. Unplug the Blu-ray player power cord from the electrical outlet.
2. Let the equipment remain without power for 5 minutes.
3. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

NOTE: If the Blu-ray player is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the Blu-ray.

4. Try to turn on the unit.

If the issue still unresolved, the unit requires to be sent for repair.

check on/off button on top. I was ready to but a new one and started to clean the buttons and press on/off about 10 times. Works now.
