how do I stream from my dell computer to the Blu-ray DVD Player

I have a similar question. I have my BDV-N790W connected to my LAN. I am able to play videos, music and plictures located on my server using the remote control supplied with the BDV player by selecting the DLNA server icon. I would like to stream videos to the BDV player using Media Players "Play To" functtion. I have media player configured correctly. When I select Play To the BDV play is in the drop-down list. I select it. Media player tried to connect but times out with the message "device is not responding". What must I do?
