Well hopefully this firmware update will solve my issue. After researching this issue I never realized that my Sony XBR-65x950b was not HDR complaint which is hard to imagine since my television is only a year old.

I've always favored Sony over Samsung but at least with the Samsung UBD-K8500 I could see the differences between blu-ray and ultra HD.

Now I'm wishing I had never got rid of the Samsung player.

Not getting hdr signals or 4k still from Netflix. Works fine on uhd blu rays. When is the new firmware coming?

Hello all,

 

As mentioned before:

We are targeting April /E release timing for this firmware.  This is subject to change if any problems occur during our SQA evaluation, but I will provide any changes to the target schedule as they come up.

 

As soon as we finish SQA evaluation and approval, I'll be able to give a target date for market release.

I also have file play back issues(1080p) using DLNA). I have 3 other Sony bluray players that work fine on the same network and content. I did replace the player, and the problem persist.

I too have purchased this player. No luck with 4k streaming content either, both hardward and via Wifi. This is the third time I have swapped mine out at my local Bestbuy. Customers that own this player need to get the Sony engineers to find a fix asap or your going to loose a lot of customers to other brands of 4k players. I have an Panasonic player and and Xbox1S on different TVs with no problem. When will there be a fix?

I wanted to share the update from our design group, we are currently planning for firmware update for Netflix 4K playback issue on April 26.  As normal, this target date is subject to change if any issues occur during SQA evaluation.

Please, make sure to have them resolve the file play back issue as well. 1080p content freezes after 5 or 6 seconds and contuinues that pattern. I have other sony bluray players that work fine on the same network and content.
