UBPX800 Netflix App converts DD+ to DD - why?

My new UBPX800 UHD player does not output Dolby Digital Plus when watching Netflix. The Amazon Prime App on the player does. Why? Is that a feature or a bug?

Re: UBPX800 Netflix App converts DD+ to DD - why?

Thanks for the tip but it does not help.

Die streaming apps are simply put not in line with the UHD X800.

The Amanzon app does 4k but not HDR

The Netflix app does 4K and HDR but not dolby Digital plus.

I am really desappointed

The player re-encodes Netflix Dolby Digital Plus to (same bitrate) regular Dolby Digital which keeps the fidelity but destroys metadata like Atmos.

Of course the idiot 'Experts' they have replying to these topics here don't even know how the products actually work so they send people off on wild goose chases that will never help.

Agree, it's lame the player cannot do Amazon HDR.

Not to mention no Vudu 4k support.  On a 4k featured device. Of course Sony Android TVs suffer the same problem there.
