Sony HDR-CX 220 sound settings

I bought a camcorder Sony HDR-CX 220 and wonder a little about the settings of the sound that is best to film live music.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Sony HDR-CX 220 sound settings

It all depends on what you want to record.

If you are in a venue were the audience is not active then you can choose low under mic ref.

  1.   [Camera/Mic]  [Microphone]  [Micref Level].

The Zoom Mic function will make the camera adjust the sound recording along with the lens zoom level. You may use this function depending on the subject that you will be shooting. You can use this to isolate the sound of the subject you are shooting, such a a person in the middle of a crowd.
