Sony hdr xr500 video transfer to computer hard drive

[ Edited ]

Using home memories, i can't see many of the videos i've recorded with my camcorder.

Home memories doesn't show my videos. I can NOT transfer from cam to computer.

Is there a trick?

Re: Sony hdr xr500 video transfer to computer hard drive

Hi,

After contacting this forum, i was able to find out what my problem was. I did not know to look for my cam in the list of drives in Play Memories Home.

I have been importing videos to my hard drive since then. Everything is perfect, so i thought.

My problem now is this:

I recorded a three-hour long video, and Play Memories doesn't show me the video to import. I checked the cam and it's in there, alright.

Maybe it takes some time to load until Play Memories can see it? Not sure.

I had to go to the store just before, and so i thought if i leave the cam plugged in to my PC with Play Memories loaded after selecting "vidoes", maybe it will load up by the time i got back. No such luck.

Help, please.

Thanks

Robbie

Re: Sony hdr xr500 video transfer to computer hard drive

Hi Robbiedaug,

You may refer to the link below for further assistance on how to transfer the videos to your computer running Windows 10. May we also know what is the format of this video that you've  been trying to transfer? You stated that the Play Memories doesn't show you the video to import, how about the other videos, do you see them?

Re: Sony hdr xr500 video transfer to computer hard drive

Hi Jen,

It is so strange.

One day it doesn't see the video, and the next day it does.

I works, now. I don't understand why or how but it works.

Thanks

Robbie
