connect dcr hc40 to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I have a Sony DCR HC40 camcorder.  On my computer I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  I've tried installing the different applications on the Sony support section and it keeps telling me that version 3.0 or later of the software can't be found.  I don't have the original disks from when I purchased my camcorder.  Is there a way to get the PMB launcher and other applications loaded so transfer videos from my camcorder to my computer?  I would like to pull movies I've made on tape on put them on CD;s for safe keeping.  Thank you.

Hi Don,

Welcome to Sony Community!

Although the PMB software is compatible with Windows 7 Operating System, USB streaming property of this Camcorder is not compatible with Windows 7. However, you can transfer videos from the Camcorder either using A/V or i.Link cables. Instructions to transfer videos using A/V and i.Link cables are mentioned.
