Re: Sony KDL70R550A TV problem

I just read a post from Groovin who resolved this issue. posted 01.16.2016.  The panels aren't available anymore,

apparently there's suppose to be a law the T V manufactures are required to carry all parts for repair for 9 years.  If not they have to replace the TV with one of equal value.  The Sony authorized repair person told that even if I wanted to replace the panel, it was not available.

Re: Sony KDL70R550A TV problem

I do not believe the law is 9 years. It is around 2-3 years. Which still leaves us all under that time frame. The panels are not available, that is true. That is what I was told also. But Sony refuses to replace the TV. They offered me a refurbished unit if it was available.... and guess what?! NONE AVAILABLE!!  They offered for me to buy another TV for $1500. But after this TV cost $3000, I will never be buying another Sony product again.

Re: Sony KDL70R550A TV problem

I will and will not stop trying.  My attorney thought that a class action could be expensive because trying to find all the people with this problem.  However, He did say that we should make complaint to the consumer protection.

The Attorney Generals of each state share complaints concerning issueslike this one.  Sio I sent him the private emails between myself and Sony reps.  He even thought that if a TV is replaced it should have as least a three year extended warranty offered.  This is because there seems to be a lot people with this issue of screen panel failures.

I will be speaking with him today after goes over the emails and samples of all the complaints posted on this community website.  Apparently this issue has been going on for some time, and Sony has to know it and should have resolved this problem.  So I wont stop until this is resolved.

Re: Sony KDL70R550A TV problem

It been some time since my last post. I've decided to write my Attorney General in Ohio, and Albany and Brooklyn New York Since Sony is based in that state. In addition, to Sony Corp. offices of Mike Fasulo COO of electronics. I pointed out the problem we are having with the TV s and customer service.  at the end of this post i will post the addreses of these offices.  However, we all need to write letters to our Attorney Generals and Consumer Protection Agencies.  Please make sure that we are showing this to be a design or manufacturing defect. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being ignored about this problem.

Re: Sony KDL70R550A TV problem

I Can't understand why Sony will not respond to letters or post to customer service. I always thought the name Sony meant quality products. Everywhere I look on different websites these products are going downhill, even the newer models. I beginning to think that we should stop going to see their movies and any other division of Sony.
