Re: The official XBR-55HX950 "horizontal line" panel defect thread

REMINDER TO ALL. THE SEPTEMBER 30,2017 DATE IS JUST THE LAST DAY TO FILE YOUR WARRANTY CLAIM.

AS LONG AS YOU FILE YOUR WARRANTY CLAIM BY THEN. YOUR WARRANTY IS EXTENTED UNTIL SONY PROVIDES AN ACCEPTABLE WARRANTY SOLUTION TO REMENDY THE KNOWN DEFECT WITH YOUR XBR 55 HX950. YOU ARE PROTECTED BY FEDERAL AND STATE CONSUMER LAWS.

PLEASE SEE PREVIOUS POSTS FOR MORE INFOMATION ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER.

Re: The official XBR-55HX950 "horizontal line" panel defect thread

Update. As Sony is unwilling to abide by the terms of the warranty and act in good faith to replace my unrepairable in warranty defective tv. I have decided to file a civil suit against them under the advice of my attorney. After the case is over. I will update everyone as it will be public record at that time.

Re: The official XBR-55HX950 "horizontal line" panel defect thread

My TV has the same issue with the horizontal line. I was told by Sony Customer Support (1-877-899-7669) that while Sony acknowledged that there was a problem with XBR55HX950, I am out of luck as the recall ended 12 days ago on September 30, 2017.Bottom line- there is nothing that they can do for me. Now, I have been a loyal customer for over twenty years and that was like a kick in the gut!

Here is another thing, this is the second time in two years that I am having the same issue. Two years ago, lines apperaed on my XBR8.

Anyway, I sent an email to sony support usa and I will keep you posted to see where this goes.

Hello Dennis 4420.
I suggest you file a complaint with the BBB and your state's attorney General office. Also keep contacting Sony until they offer a resolution. Sorry cannot offer more help at this time. Will have more information after my small claims case is completed.

Re: The official XBR-55HX950 "horizontal line" panel defect thread

So I’ve had my case since 2016 and apparently since September 30 has passed they don’t want to offer me anything even though my case was opened in 2016. Unbelievably bad customer service, this is the end of Sony for me and am contemplating small claims court at this point.

Will also be switching to Samsung from here on out and recommending to my viewers and followers on my YouTube to do the same. Japanese corporations have lost their way. Sharp, Toshiba, Sanyo have all fallen and Sony will not be far behind at this point if they cannot retain their customer base.

Re: The official XBR-55HX950 "horizontal line" panel defect thread

Hi SV1, thanks for your  suggestion. Can you forward me the email address for Sony Support.

On another note, what is model (non Sony, of course) that is a good or better replacement for the HX950?

Would apprecaite some ideas from others on the forum who will NEVER go Sony ever again (Re: non Sony alternatives).

It's time we all take a stand against this comany and in time they may come to realise that without loyal customers, they may not have a busness!

Thanks

Dennis
