 I mean, I know people that still have perfectly functioniing HX929 and HX950 sets, but both are 65" sets. My own NX720 is running perfectly fine (knock on wood)

 

This model has a DEFECT, which Sony is treating as a bad joke given their "replacement models" offered are weak performers or trouble prone. No thank you. I would like a refund for the purchase price so I can take my mony to Samsung or LG instead. Thanks for treating me like ****** Sony. 25 years of brand loyalty out the window.

I honestly don't get it.  We are the ones who keep throwing money at Sony yet they won't even toss a bone our way.  It's little wonder that Sony has been under water financially the last 5 years.

I still use my Sony TVs, smart phones, laptops, stereos and other products every single day.  I enjoy my Sony products.  It's like they want us to go away and change brands while they continue to think their brand will sell to those who won't complain just because of the name.

 

This whole experience is frustrating.  There's no real conversation, just reps going by notes.  I can't even talk to a manager!

Same response over, and over again. I'm about to make a twitter just so I can tweet this threat to Kaz Hirai, and let him see what he thinks about this.

I just submitted the defect photos along w/ serial #. I really thought I had at least 6-8 solid years with the XBR. First time I am let down by Sony, and I wasn't given any options over the phone. I was just told repeatedly that I will hear back from someone in 48 hours after submitting photos.

I'm gonna give you the options right here:

 

X850B

 

X850C

 

X900C

 

Pick your poison, all 3 models have awful backlight bleed issues, no local dimming, etc...the problems go on and on. I would rather keep my HX950 with the lines than be given a POS TV as a replacement. 


FYI, I have not replaced the TV yet. Sony continues to give poor options. 

 

Even a refund check for "fair market value" was no longer an option. Just 3 lousy TV options that don't do the XBR brand any justice.

Sony doesn't make TVs to last 6-8 years anymore.  They expect people who can afford a flagship TV to have no problem forking over more money after 2 years of planned obsolescence.

 

I can't get over how gorgeous my 55HX950 is and how any of the available solutions offered by Sony looks nowhere near as nice.  On top of that, they're refurbished items that only have a 90 days warranty.
