DSC-HX90V lens wont retract

Hi

I have a Sony DSC-HX90V compact camera which is 1 year and 1 month old now.

I was on holiday 2 weeks ago and suddenly the lens would not retract.

The display keeps telling me to turn the camera off and then on again.

Is it worth sending it to repair? it might be more expensive than a new camara - or can I fix it somehow my self?

I have tried to remove the battery, hold the on/off botten down for 60 sec - insert the battery, turn the camera on again without any luck.

Re: DSC-HX90V lens wont retract

Hi PJG,

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Sony Community.

In this case, you may need to have the unit checked by an authorized service center. For further assistance, we kindly recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.

Thank you,

Jerome

[ Edited ]

Fixed it myself :-)

Turn the camera on.
Press slightly the lens towards the house.

Turn camera of.

When lens starts to move, press it all the way into the house an keep holding it.

Remomove batteri - insert battery.

Turn camera on while holding the lens into house so it dont move at all.

then remove/insert battery again.

Initialize the camera - and now its working when turning on/off.
