Dash firmware download

How can the firmware be downloaded to fix the problem?  Can it be done on the dash website or on the Dash itself?

Re: Dash firmware download

The Dash in the past has downloaded firmware automatically.  It has the logic to do it.

Re: Dash firmware download

Thanks.  I hope that's the case.  Otherwise, it would be impossible to do it via the Dash itself since the only thing you can access is the error message.

Re: Dash firmware download

The firmware update is now available via the eSupport site. You will need to load the update onto a USB drive to install it on the HID-C10 unit.

Re: Dash firmware download

Mine is working now. Found a 2 gig flash stick and under zipped the file. (I didn't know I had to or not. So I left both zip and unzipped file on flash stick. ) first attempt the dash froze. Then I tried again. The USB button was highlighted. 6 minutes later the dash rebooted and connected. Working now

Not a great job Sony, but thank you. I was about to trash this device.

Re: Dash firmware download

Use a smaller flash drive size. I used a old 2 gig stick. Also try unzipping the file. They weren't clear on that. I did it anyway. Relaunch

Re: Dash firmware download

Today's update DID then DID NOT work for me.

  1. I lost power 2 days ago and suffered with "the error message."
  2. I never did a factory reset.
  3. This morning I downloaded the UPDATE.ZIP v1.7.15.26 and following the instructions to update with a USB drive (and after a couple of extra reboots) got it properly working.
  4. I tested the new setup by unplgging the power supply.
  5. Back to getting "the error message.

Any ideas on what I should do now?
