Failed to authorize: device and suit mismatch

Hello all,

 

I recently just got a used Sony Dash HID-C10 on Amazon and this error message came up after I restore the device to factory default. I tried to call customer service and the lady who answered the phone had no clue what she was doing.

 

I read about administrators can help me reset the MAC address, if that's the case, please help me!!

I'm having the same problems and calling the dash support number twice got me nowhere can you please help me also tried rebooting to factory settings when it logs on still get same message thank you

I just received a reply from Sony email support, and they sent the canned response which does not work for the Failed to authorize" issue. I hope EllaC can help.
We understand that you want to unregister the dash.

Hello all,   I recently just got a used Sony Dash HID-C10. this error message came up after I restore the device to factory default.... Serial # 8065820  MAC 00:17:C4:9B:8B:7F. Can someone help me get this cleared so I can proceed with setting upthe DASH?

Hello sandyjo - My suggestion is to call Sony support at 1-800-222-7669 or 239-768-7545.  Make sure to get a case number.  Resetting/Clearing the MAC and serial number will take Level 2 or higher support, so be patient.  It took me a few calls and checking on the status before Level 2 support got my message and helped.  Sony will help, but it is not a fast process.
