I am pretty sure the delay in Sony taking the necessary steps to fix the issue is that in reality they wish people who own the Dash would just go away...currently they are seeing just how many people complain.

 

Right now they are monitoring the issue and are leaning towards fixing it...witness ErinC acting like it would be resolved soon...which probably won't happen, but who knows?

 

What's really irritating and deserves some type of viral video rant is the fact that their tech people are clueless as to the actual nature of the issue and have their customers performing cartwheels around the issue like it is something to do with our side of the equation...clear your cache...sign on incognito...call these people, etc.

 

And the funny thing is that I actually have a replacement XBR 4K panel arriving tomorrow after the 35 day old one stopped recognizing any hdmi.  The hoops I had to jump through!!!

 

possiblly its time to really take this kind of lackadaisical attitude towards it customer base to apply my disposable income to brands other than Sony.

 

But maybe it will be fixed soon...hope springs eternal.

 

So much for that vaio laptop I was looking at...jk...specs are there...value/performance aren't.

Anyone been able to login yet? I see I'm finally able to change themes and browse apps from within the Dash unit itself, but some require customizaion that can only be done online and still recieving the "Requested URL was rejected" Smiley Sad

Yeah still can't login to register a new Dash! How long does it take to reboot a server?

You stated the technical support team was aware of the situation, and that you were currently working on the issue.

 

This situation has happened several times in the past, and for several months.  Doesn't the support team keep records of how they fixed it before?  Or is this going to be down for several more months?

It shouldn't be down more than a few hours. Never days or months. It's ridiculous that you buy the product which needs to be registered/configured on the Sony site yet the Sony site can't be logged into. It's crazy that they don't support the infrastructure when there's an issue!!!

I am pretty sure Sony has farmed operation of the servers for the dash out to some very low bidder.  And most likely a speedy resolution of any server issue was NOT a requirement from Sony.  Which is why issues like this are measured in weeks and months before resolution as most of you know.  I actually had been planning on a sony sound base for my sony flat panel.  Not any more. The old Onkyo still performs welland when I do replace it...it won't be a Sony.
