Im based in Hong Kong, and I recently put my Sony f5 in to Sony Repair Hong Kong for firmware uprade since my serial number fell into the list of cameras. The support seemed like they've never seen a Sony F5 camera before.
Anyways 3 days later, the support team contacted me and told me they had some issues with the update, and had to ship the camera to another repair center for resetting. (I wonder if they actually just downloaded the V8 and installed it) I was quite suprised since everyone's experience here only took a day.
Anyways, after a week and half of 'upgade', they returned the camera ... but with all of my 4k/ prores paid purchase gone. Also I was charged 200 USD for the firmware upgrade.
That's awful, and somehow not all that surprising, Service centers are only as good as their people and I've had some fantastic sevice from sony reps from LA to Toronto. Unfortunatley the Hong Kong shop is not doing great. You should not have to pay for anything at this point in my opinion. Raise some ******.
