Re: CBKZ-55FX F5 4K internal upgrade option URL for software download not working?

[ Edited ]

Thanks for the advise, I've started the process and just created an account.

I Can't believe that this will take 'one or two days' to be activated though!

The firmware updates have been pretty straight forward so this has come as a bit of a shocker!

Hopefully we'll be up and running in a few days.

Thanks for publishing the procedure 'bjdzyak', it seemed surprisingly difficult to find this information.

Cheers.

Ian

The written procedure wasn't exactly as they state, but it's close.  If you get hung up anywhere, just click around a bit and it'll continue.

Re: CBKZ-55FX F5 4K internal upgrade option URL for software download not working?

One small detail that I overlooked...

When you enter your serial number of the website to get your install key be sure to put PMWF5 before your serial number.  The process will go forward, but the install file you get will not work.

Re: CBKZ-55FX F5 4K internal upgrade option URL for software download not working?

Having just ordered the update, I have a suggestion for Sony and their dealers.  When a customer orders a $1,000 Fimware update, I would obtain the Camera ID # from the customer's camera, place the order for the update with Sony, and supply the customer with the camera specific SD card required for the firmware update.  The current system as devised by Sony is just b_u_ll_s_hi_t.  And poor customer service by the dealer I might add.  So it would cost them $10 for an SD card, but keep customers happy.

I'm sure everyone agrees Richard. The whole execution of it has been a total joke.

My 4K key won't even work.  Local dealer is sorting it out with Sony for me.

All fixed. Smiley Happy Key had errors in the code.

Re: CBKZ-55FX F5 4K internal upgrade option URL for software download not working?

Hi all,

Has anyone had an issue with their internal 4K XAVC footage not going into Davinci resolve through any means possible (except an exported Quicktime file and then scene detecting)? It seems like it might be a bug but I wanted to check with you guys first.

Thanks

Nick
