Fujinon MK

Seeing as there are no electronics, I wonder if the whole E-mount back could be removed and replaced with an FZ mount?

Re: Fujinon MK

The rear lens element is a fair way inside the housing and looking at the one I have I think it would be possible. I've spoken to Fujinon about this and they made some notes, so who knows.

Re: Fujinon MK

If it is possible, and they don't have to make a whole new model, just an interchangeable rear mount part, that would be pretty cool!

Re: Fujinon MK

You can get the RED 17-50mm and 50-150mm PL zooms from ebay for reasonable prices.

These lenses are not too shabby for their price.

I have both...

Re: Fujinon MK

For sure, they are nice lenses, and there was a time where I was looking for some to get myself.

But things about the Fujinons that are particularly attractive:

• More modern optics, likely more refined, sharper (reviews seem good).
• Well matched to other Fujinon lenses (good for second camera for existing Fujinon users).
• Very light weight!).
• Fast.
• Will encourage FS7 users to begin to move away from DSLR glass (as will Sigmas and others).
• Built in macro ring and back-focus adjustment.
• Both lenses are identical size and F/I/Z ring spacings.

Re: Fujinon MK

Interesting to see Fujinon have just announced they're going to sell the XK 20-120 Cab minus the zoom drive for under US$10k now and dropped the price of the ZK 19-90 Cab by US$10k.

My guess is there'll be some some new glass announced at NAB from them.

I do like the Zeiss' interchangable mounts though, but the zoom range on the Fujinon with the new price is quite attractive.

mmmmm.
