Re: Welcome aboard!

Hi.Please could somebody explain why are all commands on the left side of the body again ? If your target is professional film and commercial production this design failure with such  a great camera  / F55 / should not happen.Sorry to say...

Re: Welcome aboard!

I don't understand why controls should be on dumb side of the camera...that's something that only showed up when the Alexa came along.

My AC still sits on the left side of the camera, just like they have always.

Re: Welcome aboard!

Hi Peter, it's great to hear about these new F5 & F55 cameras and also this dedicated forum where we can interact directly with Sony and ask questions and get answers.

Great work!

Stock Footage of PMW-F55 and F5

Hello,

today I searched test footage of Sony F55 and F5. Have not found anything. I want to see test footage without color correction, please let me know, where can find test stock video.

Re: Welcome aboard!

Sony said during NAB that 2000 F5 and F55 cameras have shipped. We have both in stock currently.

I guess this is something that is taken over from the ENG world. 1 Cameraman and no AC. In the film-days the ac was not on the dumb side. But he also didn't had to press that many buttons (format, WB, fps, checking the batteries....). It's not an Arri SR3 with only 3 buttons or so. It's more like a ******pit (pilots-airplanecabine, sorry) that you have to lock and bock from the head of the DP. In my opinion there should be a flipped version. If Aaton is changing to put the AC on the dumb side they thought about this twice.

Re: Welcome aboard!

Nice to see this forum being pretty well-used. Like it or loathe it the Red forum was very useful - both in terms of tips from other users and as a direct line to the makers of the cameras. Hope this will be the same.

Thank you Peter, and to all the owner/operators for sharing on this forum.  And with the hopes of Sony listening.
