WF-1000x stereo phone call request

Any chance someone from Sony can respond to this feature request.  It’s very annoying not having audio come out of right ear piece during phone calls.

Re: WF-1000x stereo phone call request

So no one at Sony or this community cares about improving products or user feedback?

Re: WF-1000x stereo phone call request

Hi NeoReaper,

Welcome and thank you for considering the SONY Community!

Thank you for your feedback on your experience with your WF-1000X. We are sorry for any inconvenience you had experienced. Please be assured we take this very seriously and continuously strive to improve our products.

The WF-1000X Noise-Cancelling Headphones are designed to prioritize the transmission between the player and the left side of the headphones. This may cause the sound to cut out or stop coming out of the right side of the headphones.

To resolve this, follow the steps below:

  • Sound from the right side of the headphones cuts out

Multiple Wi-Fi® devices, microwave ovens, cordless phones, or devices that transmit 2.4 GHz band frequency radio waves can cause the sound to cut out or not come out of the right side of the headphones. To improve transmission, set the headphones to prioritize on a stable connection. Select your device type for more information.

    • Smartphones:
      1. Install the Headphones Connect app.
      2. Launch the app and follow the on-screen instructions for the initial set up and to connect the headphones.
      3. On the Home Screen, select Sound Quality Mode.
      4. Select Priority on Stable Connection.

        Priority on Stable Connection

      • For Apple products, always use Priority on Sound Quality.
    • Walkman® devices:
      1. Select Settings.
      2. Select Bluetooth/Audio device connection settings.
      3. Select Wireless playback quality.
      4. Select SBC connection priority.

  • No sound comes out of the right side of the headphones.

If the headphones get disconnected from the player, or no sound comes from the right side, restart the headset.

    1. Turn off the headphones.
      • Press and hold the Power button located on the left unit for about two seconds until the indicator flashes blue. Both units will turn off at the same time.

Power Button on the left unit.

    2. Turn on the headphones.
      • Press and hold the buttons on the left and right headphones until the indicator flashes blue.

        Buttons on both units

    3. Reconnect the headphones to the player with the Headphones Connect app.

If the issue still occurs, confirm if the firmware version of your headphone is 1.0.7 or higher.

  1. Launch the Headphones Connect app.
  2. In the Headphones Connect app, connect to the headphones:
    • If you have never connected before, select Connect to the new headphones.
    • If you have connected before, follow the on-screen instructions to connect the headphones.
  3. After connecting the headphones, tap the Menu icon on the top-right corner of the screen.
    • Android™ devices

      Menu icon Android device

    • iOS™ devices

      Menu icon iOS device

  4. Tap WF-1000X Version.
    • Android devices

      WF-1000X Version Android device

    • iOS devices

      WF-1000X Version iOS device

The currently installed firmware version will appear on the screen.

Regards,

-Erin

Re: WF-1000x stereo phone call request

The problem I’m describing is strictly for phone calls. The device falls back to mono audio from one earpiece and once the call ends, it will go back to stereo sound.

Re: WF-1000x stereo phone call request

Sony doesn't care what customers need for improving their devices, I have posted for a long time 2 issues with these headphones and they've not been fixed, Sony will only fix what they want.

Re: WF-1000x stereo phone call request

Well, I hope someone from Sony can forward this feature request to the right people or at least give us a way to contact the proper department for a feature request. People are no longer infatuated with Japanese electronics like in yesteryear... In order to stay relevant, you really need to pay attention to whatever customers you still have.
