Re: HT-CT260H HDMI ARC issues with an LG 55LA7400 Smart TV

Same problem I am facing when trying to connect my LG 42LA620V and HT-CT260H. Its very frustrating that I have to use both LG and Sony remotes always either with C-HDMI turned Off and then On or keeping C-HDMI always off.

Why Sony is ignoring this problem? Sometimes I see Sony as arrogant company who just don't do anything for customers untill customers will leave it.

Re: HT-CT260H HDMI ARC issues with an LG 55LA7400 Smart TV

Just another hint: I've upgraded the TV to a lb650v which is running a completely different operating system (WebOS) and the problem still persists so it's obvious that the soundbar is at fault here..

Re: HT-CT260H HDMI ARC issues with an LG 55LA7400 Smart TV

The problem can be replicated with any LG TV and HDMI ARC. Try setting in TV for HDMI ARC External speakers output and set C-HDMI in Sony as ON. Now, turn off the TV and hence Soundbar will also turns off because of HDMI ARC settings. Wait for a minute and Then Turn on the TV and you will see the sound will be coming from TV Speakers and not from sound bar.

Work around first turn off C-HDMI setting and turn TV speaker settings to HDMI ARC external speakers. Once sound is coming from bar then turn on C-HDMI settings.

After you turn off then your will start with work around again.

Thanks Sam. If you can share, when this defect can be fixed? and how we the customers will get the solution?, then it will be great help.

Fed up with slow response and decided to return it back to Sony. This is possibly a solution.

Re: HT-CT260H HDMI ARC issues with an LG 55LA7400 Smart TV

I too have the same issue but with my CT770 and LG LB6500. Thread is here.

To get around it, I turn the switch off at the wall (My TV/Soundbar are on the same powerboard) when I'm not using it. When I get in, I turn it all back on again and the system is reset.

This is a work around, but Sony please, give us a firmware update or something. I have tested a Philips soundbar with my TV and the problem doesn't exist, it's only with your soundbars. Which for the record I'm keeping because it sounds bloody awesome, I'm quite content (for now.....) to turn everything off and back on at the wall each time I use the TV, but that's only because the CT770 is the best sounding bar on the market. IMHO.

Re: HT-CT260H HDMI ARC issues with an LG 55LA7400 Smart TV

Purchased a 65in SONY Bravia smart tv with 320W soundbar on 8/23. TV would not power up (flashing error code). Returned it and got a LG55 in smart tv. Encountered the HDMI COMPATIBILITY problem next morning. Found this site and discovered I had been hoodwinked by Best Buy - they surely knew about the problem but did not disclose. I am a registered professional engineer in Electrical Engineering - this is the most disappointing quality (SONY) that I have ever experienced in over 35 years. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER SONY PRODUCT - this is inexcusable quality. Do your engineers not test your products before releasing to production ???
