Re: HTRT5 Lip-Syncing. Is there a fix?

The factory reset I talked about in my previous posts has not fixed it.  The problem is back again today.

Re: HTRT5 Lip-Syncing. Is there a fix?

So last night I reset just the "network settings" config in order to prevent the HT-RT5 from connecting to my home wireless network (based on jsannn's theory/advice), then rebooted the soundbar.  To my surprise I did NOT experience any sync drift/latency at all last night while watching television for about 5 hours.  This is probably the first night I have not seen the drift in over a month.  I was very encouraged.  However, when I woke up this morning the A/V sync appeared to be slightly off...almost not noticeable, but it was definitely off slightly.

Tonight I will do the "initialize personal information" wipe and see if things hold up into the next day.

Re: HTRT5 Lip-Syncing. Is there a fix?

I have had the same issue for about 3 months. I have had my RT5 since December and was spot on for the first 6 months.

I have a

Xbox One         Vu+ Solo2 Sat Box  Both connected direct to TV via HDMI ports 1+3

Panasonic TX-P50GT60B 50 Series 3D Plasma ===>> HDMI 2 ARC ====>> Sony Ht-rt5

Sony RT5 wired connection using spotify often.

Please advise on if there is a fix for this issue or should i return the item back to Currys for a refund.

Hello mdr3939,

I see that you are located in Belgium, I have reached out to the Sony EU members to help out directly so that we can attempt to replicate.  I'll contact you by message with details.

Thank you again to everyone for helping to figure this condition out.

Chris

Re: HTRT5 Lip-Syncing. Is there a fix?

dpc1979, at 9 months you're getting pretty close to the year warranty, and if you've tried all the suggested workarounds with no success I think you should be heading back to currys asap. Funnily enough I bought from Currys too - wonder if this commonlity extends to the others here too.

Anyway after 9 months you might have a bit of a battle with Currys (they will probably want to 'repair'  it - even though we all know theres no chance of that happening) - but after 12 months you will have zero chance. So yeah as a say I think you should be taking it back asap. If you do let me know how you get on. I have emailed Currys customer support with a long detailed note. No reply as yet !
