Ipod not working with Sony Dream Machine

My daughter's 4th gen ipod has stopped working with her Sony Dream Machine  (ICF-CS15iP).  It still charges, but the music will no longer play through the DM speakers.  Has anyone else had the same situation?  Found a workaround?  We know it's not the ipod itself because it works with our car docking system.  However, we tried it out on another Dream Machine, and it didn't work on that one either.

Hello Sara,

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Please verify your daughter's ipod model (4th gen ipod or 4th gen ipod touch) because the Dream Machine model ICF-CS15iP isn't compatible with 4th gen ipod device (see link below).  Otherwise, you can try to press the reset button with a pointed object (see figure 2 from the ICF-CS15iP's Reference Guide and service may required if doing reset cannot help.
