Just recently received a new directv dvr - hr24-500. Received connected to dvr via hdmi - since receiving this new dvr my audio constantly cuts out on certain programs - is this the dvr, the receiver , or both. Any suggestions to correct
Set top boxes are notorious for causing issues. Try temporarly turning off HDMI CEC and see if it gets better. If it does, it's more set top box weirdness. A HDMI CEC-less adapter then would be the solution at that port, allowing you to turn HDMI CEC back on again. Another option would be your cables aren't up to the job. Lastly, there is a mode on the receiver that isn't supported by the set top box. Try different output settings at the set top box.
