STR DN1040 network issues

 when I go to the settings and try to set up the network  it is not highlighted and say no connection. Which is fine but it does not give me an option to set up a connection

Please tell me the options that you see under NETWORK SETTINGS. Are you trying to use wired or wireless internet connection?

I'm tring to use wireless, I'm seeing no options at all everything else in the settings is highlighted except for the network option tab

Make sure that the STR-DN1040 receiver is connected to the Television so you can see the menu of the receiver being displayed on the TV screen.

 

When you start operating the receiver,  make sure to press AMP on the remote 
control first. Otherwise, operations that  follow may not be aimed at the receiver.
 
Now, if you're unable to highlight NETWORK option, please re-run the EASY SETUP under SETTINGS (first option) to make the basic settings including Network Setup. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I had this happen and had to hard reset the unit to get the network option to come back.

I have the same issue with DN840 (a similar model). I am running Network Settings and nothing happens. I see no options to choose from, just "PLEASE WAIT".

I have a STRDN1030 and it was working fine then suddenly the network stopped working, you cannot access "network" in settings as it is dulled out and says "not in use" and when you go to network it says 'please wait" I have done a reset to default settings twice but it is still the same.
