I could say, just read and follow manual's instructions very carefully!

Re: Sony CDP-CX455 400 CD changer

okay, thanks again, by any chance do you recall what parts need to be removed  ie: cover, main board? Just wondering what I need to remove to get access to the  belts.

Re: Sony CDP-CX455 400 CD changer

As I wrote on my previous posts, my problem was the belt that turns around the CDP's "table".

I had replaced only the two belts, ie. the one that turns around the table and the other, that loads a CD in the reader unit (see photo on my previous post). For the replacement I had removed just only the cover (case)!

Be careful! All moving parts are full of lubrificant grease!

For the third belt (ie. that opens and closes CDP's door) if it needs, You have to disassemble the CDP's table.

Re: Sony CDP-CX455 400 CD changer

You are welcome Smiley Very Happy
On this CDP, the components that get damaged usually are:

- the two belts and

- the "Optical Laser Lens" of the CD Player Pickup

You can find and buy all these components very easily, although this CDP model is more than fourteen years old!

Re: Sony CDP-CX455 400 CD changer

[ Edited ]

I've had my CDP CX455 for about 10 years but haven't used it in about 2.  Yesterday I took it out to try to use it again and it seems to be stuck in a loop.  It continually tries to load a disc but fails for some reason.  The arm loads the disc into the player and then immediately unloads it; it does this about 10 times before it quits.  I've factory reset the player, but unfortunately that hasn't solved the issue.

I'm including a video of the problem hoping that somebody might have a solution.  Is there any way to reflash the firmware?  Any help would be appreciated.
