I know quite a few of us are running into the "Your account is not confirmed" issue. I've found a potential work-around - it worked for me, and it might work for you.
The work-around is this: reset your password. When you reset your password, Sony will send you an e-mail verifying that you requested a password change. Clicking through that e-mail and changing your password evidently also confirms your account. It may take one or two password changes before it works - I had to change mine twice before I could log in and register my products - but if you're willing to go through the aggravation of having to change your password, it might work for you.
