Product registration problems!

When I attempt to login to register a new product my username (email) is not found, but when I attempt to register a new product without logging in, I'm told a user by this name already exists! Looks like a Catch 22 to me...

Please send us a private message with the product that you want to register and also include the email address and username that you use for this account.

I started a chat session with Sony Support and they advised me to request a new password at the product registration log-in screen. I was able to login with the new password and then I was able to register my new Sony product, so all is well.
