Re: DPT-RP1 does not pair with Digital paper app on Mac

Right! Once I had the same problem. Only connecting with bluetooth is possible, although later I figured out the method that I told you.

I was thinking why Sony dev team does not allow to configure wifi access thru bluetooth. This makes the 2 most fastest connections unsuable to me.

I ended up installing Windows on VM just for sync-ing this $700 device. What a shame!

Please try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Disconnect USB between computer and Digital Paper.
  2. Close Digital Paper App.
  3. Delete the Digital Paper App from the Applications folder in the Finder (i.e., move to Trash)
  4. Delete the following folder in the Finder => / Users / (User Name) / Library / Application Support / Sony Corporation / Digital Paper App

Note: Normally, it is not possible to view the Library submenu in the Finder. In Finder select the GO menu and hold down the Option key to see Library.

  1. Delete all certificate digitalpaper.local files from Keychain Access.

Note: Key chain access is in the Application / Utilities folder. Select "login" in the left pane of Keychain Access to view the list of keys and certificates.

  1. Initialize the Digital Paper. [Settings]> [System Settings]> [Initialize Digital Paper]
  2. After initialization is complete, turn on device and complete the set up again.
  3. Download and install the Digital Paper App again.
  4. If the "Digital Paper Connection" dialog is not displayed in the Digital Paper App, disconnect & re-connect the USB and wait up to two minutes.
  5. If you still do not see the "Connect with Digital Paper" dialog box, try connecting from [Settings]> [Pairing] of Digital Paper App.

Re: DPT-RP1 does not pair with Digital paper app on Mac

Your solution doesn't help at all. Becuse it failed the first time when I started with my initial DPT-RP1 and a fresh installation on my Mac. What kind of initialization works if it has failed the first time?

I tired on 2 Macs of my workmates, and it worked with them. Then I tried my other Mac, Macbook Air 2013, and it worked. It seems the only one fails is my Mac Book Pro 15 mid 2014, on which I am typing.

stevenvo is not the only one, and we won't be the last 2 if you do not resolve this problem. I suggest team to thoroughly test it, both hardware and software. Not everybody has the same luck or patience to retry on so many computers. The next customer might directly choose to refund and post a video of "sony ******" on youtube.

d-__-l right, his solution did not help at all. I didn't even bother posting as I guess they do not even know how to reproduce the problem yet fixing them.

Anyway, only allow setting up WIFI through Cable Connection is the most s-t-u-p-i-d (somehow this word got filter and become *****) idea ever. If one has failed with cable connection then there is only left with the super slow bluetooth transmission.

Re: DPT-RP1 does not pair with Digital paper app on Mac

Ha my DPT RP1 is in the situation as you described. I can only use bluetooth to connect the app, which is slow like heck... I don't know why the wifi connection doesn't work on my Dell. Interesting the wifi connection works on my girlfriend's Mac Air.
